Looking for a way of adding something new to a Neighbourhood Watch Meeting?

 

The Neighbourhood Watch Office has a selection of DVDs and Videos on various aspects of crime reduction that can be loaned out on a weekly basis to Neighbourhood Watch schemes.  The programmes act as a good discussion point and can bring a central theme to a meeting.

 

DVD

  • Trickster (40 mins), a musical to bring home the message about distraction burglary
  • Neighbourhood Watch Compilation DVD containing:

-         The Opportunist (18 mins), home-security through the eyes of a burglar

-         Beware the Bogeymen (12 mins), explaining what to look out for with bogus callers

-         Stop Thief (12 mins), distraction burglary from the point of view of the distraction burglars

-         Distraction Burglary – closing the door on Bogus Callers (9 mins), an information film giving advice on distraction burglary

 

Video

  • Personal Safety while out and about (40 mins), developing a sixth sense when you are out and about after dark, using public transport, in the car (including parking, motoring and breakdowns) and also information about personal alarms.
  • Personal Safety at home and on the road (35 mins), securing your home against intruders, how to handle malicious telephone calls, personal safety in the car (including parking, motoring and breakdowns) and also information about personal alarms.
  • Stop Thief (12 mins), distraction burglary from the point of view of the distraction burglars

 

 

To borrow a DVD or video, please telephone the Neighbourhood Watch Office (01865 335133) to book the week you wish, giving a pick-up date and state the particular DVD or video you wish to borrow.  The DVD or video can then be picked up from the front counter at Cowley Police Station on the day you have booked.  Please return the video or DVD within 7 days so that other schemes can use these resources and please return them in a good condition.
